A fundraising campaign led by the Motorsport UK community has successfully facilitated the delivery of a Pinzgauer 6×6 armoured ambulance to Ukraine. Launched in 2022, the campaign aimed to support the Federation Automobile d’Ukraine (FAU) with a target of £60,000 to ensure the safe passage of the vehicle and necessary supplies.

The UK motorsport community, including the Northern Ireland motorsport community, the British Motorsport Trust, the BTRDA, and the Association of Motorsport Recovery Operators, contributed to the effort through both online and offline donations, ensuring the fundraising goal was met.

Hugh Chambers, Chief Executive Officer Motorsport UK, commented, “It is thanks to the support and solidarity expressed by our UK motorsport community that we have met our fundraising goal and successfully delivered the Pinzgauer to Ukraine.

“Motorsport UK stands united with Aleksandr Feldman, the President of the FAU, the Ukrainian motorsport community and the Ukrainian people, and the resounding interest we have had in our collective fundraising effort shows our community’s willingness to provide a small gesture of our support to a nation in need.”

The campaign also saw individual efforts from members of the Motorsport UK community, including Christopher Wigdor and Fynn Watt, who actively supported initiatives to deliver vehicles and supplies to medical teams in Ukraine.
